Internal Control Review
A structured walkthrough of key processes, control activities, and evidence trails for mid-sized operating companies preparing board packs or external audits.
Request a scoping callOur flagship engagement is a hands-on internal control review built for mid-sized operating companies — manufacturers, distributors, and multi-site traders whose books are complex enough to need disciplined testing, but who do not maintain a full-time internal audit department.
Who it is for
Finance directors, controllers, and owner-managers who need an independent look at how approvals, reconciliations, inventory movements, and cash cycles actually work day to day. Typical triggers include an upcoming statutory audit, lender information requests, a new ERP rollout, or a board that wants clearer assurance before approving capital plans.
What you receive
- A scoped control matrix covering the cycles you nominate (purchases, sales, inventory, payroll, treasury, or closing)
- Walkthrough notes and sample testing results with reference to source documents
- A findings memo ranked by severity, with practical remediation owners and sequencing
- A closing session with your finance team to agree next steps — not a stack of unread recommendations
What is excluded
Statutory financial statement audits, tax filings, and outsourced bookkeeping are outside this engagement. We do not replace your external auditor. We review how controls are designed and operated so your own team can remediate before year-end pressure peaks.
How work proceeds
After a scoping call and engagement letter, we schedule kickoff and document requests. Fieldwork blends process interviews, observation of month-end close steps, and sample testing from your ledgers. Draft findings are discussed before the final memo so surprises stay rare.
Preparation and constraints
You will need a primary contact in finance, access to policy documents and system reports, and meeting time with process owners. Multi-entity groups should identify which legal entities are in scope. Work is delivered in English; Mandarin-speaking team members can join interviews when that helps process owners speak freely.
